Fit to be Tied

Thursday, May 17, 2012

I’ve always been enchanted by the way French women dress. They’re so effortlessly chic, so seemingly put-together, no matter what the occasion. Then I read an article that revealed their secrets. Among a few other tricks, they use scarves. Small squares knotted around the neck, larger squares looped on the strap of a handbag, and the look we’re loving in the States: The oblong scarf wound casually ‘round the neck.

Scarves are ideal for updating an outfit, perking up a monochromatic look or playing up your best assets. And they aren’t just for cold weather! We have lighter versions in wispy fabrics and fresh colors and prints that flatter summer outfits, too. There are a few styles from Basha that I’ll be adding to my accessory collection before the month is out. Shop a little for yourself. Give the women of Paris a run for their money.
